Guidelines to ETPs on Continuity Plans for COVID 19

This document provides guidance to Education and Training Providers (ETPs) in determining the best possible ways of ensuring learners’ access to proposed modes of instruction, content delivery and learners’ ability to continue learning under the current interrupted period of their studies. The guidelines are a result of COVID -19 Pandemic lockdown and the challenges it presents to the teaching and learning environment. BQA encourages ETPs to implement strategies, during and post lockdown which correspond with the existing requirements of Registration and Accreditation.

 

Application for Evaluation of Qualifications (Express Service Suspended until further notice!!!)

Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) informs its valued customers that it has suspended receipt of express applications for Evaluation of Qualifications from the 26th June 2019 until further notice. The Authority assures stakeholders that the process is currently being reviewed to make the necessary improvements towards better provision of this service. BQA commits to continue processing the applications already received within the sat turnaround times. Kindly note that the Standard application for Evaluation of Qualifications Service remains available.

Public Notice: INVITATION TO REGISTER FOR COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS

Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) is mandated to provide for and maintain the National Credit and Qualifications Framework (NCQF). In its endeavor to facilitate development of qualifications, for registration on the NCQF, BQA promotes and supports collaboration between qualification developers who are interested in developing similar qualifications to work together and merge qualifications with insignificant differences and submit one jointly developed qualification for registration.

INVITATION TO REGISTER IN THE BOTSWANA QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITY EXPERT DATABASE FOR VALIDATIONS OF QUALIFICATIONS

Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) provides for, and maintains the National Credit and Qualifications Framework (NCQF). This service involves validation of qualifications to ensure their relevance to industry needs. It further ensures that they are internationally competitive and comparable.

In pursuit of these critical objectives, BQA collaborates with, and engages subject matter experts who hold relevant qualifications and experience in the different learning fields, to validate qualifications before they are registered on the NCQF.

LIST OF LEARNING PROGRAMMES REGISTERED UNDER THE NATIONAL CREDIT AND QUALIFICATIONS FRAMEWORK SYSTEM

Below is a list of learning programmes that are accredited under the National Credit Qualifications Framework. (NCQF).This process follows registration and accreditation of the Education and Training Provider and the registration of the qualifications on the NCQF. These programmes are valid for offer immediately.  Section 9 of the Regulations on accreditation of learning programmes provides that “The Authority shall publish a list of accredited learning programmes in the Gazette and in any newspaper of wide circulation in Botswana”
